Early Childhood Support Teacher I | Part-Time

For more than 20 years, Cerner Kids has supported Cerner’s mission and vision by providing a nurturing educational environment, exclusively for children of Cerner associates. The Montessori philosophy guides our programming, and we look for talented teachers to build lessons and activities to capture the interests of the children in their classroom. Cerner currently offers two childcare centers. Cerner Kids Realization, near the Grandview Triangle in South Kansas City and Cerner Kids World Headquarters, in North Kansas City. Our centers have capacity for nearly 400 students. Early Childhood Support Teacher I should possess the ability to assess and respond to the needs of children, using professional knowledge of children’s developmental milestones along with the ability to apply creative and varied approaches to children’s unique behavioral, developmental and educational needs. Our Early Childhood Support Teacher I can be in two or more classes throughout the day. They will help the Early Childhood Teacher conduct lessons, provide coverage for teacher’s breaks and plan time and will also engage with parent communication/partnership. Teachers need to work cooperatively and collaboratively with their team members, remain calm and positive in a sometimes-stressful environment, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to multi-task. Multiple shifts are available for hire ranging from Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM- 6:30 PM. Qualifications Basic Qualifications At least 2 years total combined higher education and related work experience Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree in Education or Early Childhood Education At least 1 year of education and/or early childhood work experience Expectations Ability to pass Missouri’s Department of Health and Senior Services Family Care Safety Registry background check prior to employment and every 5 years in accordance with state requirements Ability to pass occupational health requirements, including medical exams in accordance with state law Willing to work on a flexible schedule as needed Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position Perform other responsibilities as assigned Applicants for U.S. based positions with Cerner Corporation must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
